About Us

Established in 1983 Bob Howe owner and founder of Howe Countertops, started in his garage in Dexter, Minnesota providing quality laminate countertops with superior service to Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa. By 1994 he had outgrown his garage location and decided to expand and build a 4000 square foot modern day shop and showroom to accommodate for his expanded growth. In 1994 the Laminate industry was exploding with new technology and product offerings “It was no longer your Grandma’s kitchen countertops.” Shortly after that expansion the business had grown and needed additional fabricators, introducing Mike Neumann to the business and the beginning of a 23-year working friendship. Mike’s involvement in sales and manufacturing carried on the tradition that Bob had built his business on.

In 1998 the industry was rapidly changing and the need for even more space was very evident. They met this demand by constructing an additional 2500 square foot shop to fulfill the need of their business. As the business continued to grow it was plain to see that Mike, now shop foreman and business manager would be the future of Howe Countertops. Mike over the past years has taken more responsibility and eventual ownership allowing Bob to move to a well-deserved retirement.

Mike’s goal of preserving the past while embracing the future made way for creating the company’s first official mission statement “Yesterday’s Customer Service …. Today’s quality products”. The industry continues to grow with more offerings than ever before, more technology and now as Bob Howe’s vision remains Mike’s commitment to customer service lives on as Howe’s Countertop Connection looking forward to an ever-changing future.
